Featured: “God Loves You… Even If Your Parents Told You Otherwise”

Strolling through Louvain during COVID times provided scenes like this. “God houdt van: jou!” (literally “God loves: you!” in Dutch).

I found the image of this message, which should be harmless in itself, locked behind a metal gate quite descriptive of the way organised religion gatekeeps people from experiencing spirituality in their own way, and enforces dogmas through fear of an eternal punishment in the hereafter.

Photography lets you find yourself. It is a passport to people and places and to possibilities.
For me, the story about the pictures is about almost losing myself, and coming back, and what it means to be deeply involved in a subject. The thing that saved me was that I had my camera by my side.”
